Drivers and constructors tables

edit

most of the info in the Drivers and constructors table is a copy of 1995. I've corrected Williams, but a lot of it needs changing. Spute 15:21, 2 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Bertrand Gachot's flag changed to Belgium from Luxembourg. 81.178.81.70 21:41, 20 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

This article could really use a clean up, It is very hard to read and should be categorised. Guest 02:56, 25 December 2007 (UTC)

References

edit

Huge chunks of this article carry no references or sourcing at all. Suggest a rewrite using decent sources. Bretonbanquet (talk) 22:52, 27 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Agree, I tried to clean up a little bit of wrong info, but there's still a lot of stuff that needs work. For instance, the technical section refers to a lot of rule changes that were never implemented. The bit about Lamy's injuries seems dubious too. Frankly there are a lot of sources about F1 that are just plain wrong, so you have to be careful. LRT24 (talk) 00:43, 27 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Senna and Ratzenberger

edit

There should be pictures of Ayrton Senna and Roland Ratzenberger next to the San Marino Grand Prix section if not at the top. I don't know how to import pictures but I think it is neccessery for this article. Dodo497 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 14:35, 8 July 2012

Split proposal

edit

It has been proposed that parts of this article be split or merged into existing race by race articles.

Skybunny Please clarfiy your reasons for this proposal in order that the discussion may begin. Thank you. Eagleash (talk) 18:33, 22 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

If you look at newer years of Formula One Seasons, there aren't race summaries there at all. Those are in the 'Race report' and 'Qualifying' sections of those respective articles, and mention of specific races isn't done at all in the 'Formula One Season' article, in preference to general description of the development of the seasons. I think these race summaries showed up in earlier F1 seasons when there were almost no race by race articles at all. In other words:
2015 F1 season: 15+ race reports, no race summaries in the parent article
~1995 F1 season, in Wikipedia as it was 5 years ago: probably 3 race reports total, and all the brief summaries in the parent article
What I'm trying to suggest is, as the 'Season' article and individual Race articles for a given year mature, the race-specific stuff doesn't need to be in the season summary anymore, and this plays out in newer years. 1994 is reaching the maturity where these reports can be in the individual articles, to avoid what is becoming a lot of redundant and even identical information in more than one article. Hope this helps explain, Skybunny (talk) 03:56, 24 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
Skybunny Thanks for clarifying. Eagleash (talk) 11:08, 26 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
I would like to see the older season articles to fall more in line with how we do it at the moment. However, I would only support the current proposal if an alternative season summary text for the season article is ready to go. Zwerg Nase (talk) 11:43, 26 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Eddie Irvine not listed as Excluded

edit

Why is there a difference between the way Schumacher's exclusion is marked in the table and Eddie Irvine's?

Both were given bans and both were replaced for those races.

Same for Hakkinen in Hungary.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.255.38.126 (talkcontribs) 20:55, 17 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Fixed. None of those drivers was excluded, but banned. Bans should not be listed in the results tables. Bretonbanquet (talk) 21:41, 17 August 2017 (UTC)Reply
