Errors

Some of the information on this page is almost certainly wrong. Karridale is 300+ kilometers south of Dwellingup on the South West Coast (about level with Pemberton). The town is almost certainly Jarrahdale which *is* near Dwellingup. This article needs to be checked against paper records. Note that this does not preclude Karridale from having been burnt at this time but it would have been from the Pemberton fire *not* the Dwellingup fire. 203.161.88.182 (talk) 04:17, 7 July 2008 (UTC) Steve Gunnell

Part of the problem is that additional information was added to the article concerning the later and further south bushfires in February and early March 1961 which has made some of the prose slightly irrelevant with respect to the Dwellingup title. The latter of these fires certainly did destroy Karridale as the article says, but there are some factual errors as Steve has noted. I'll try to fix these.

A Royal Commission was held which looked at issues relating to all of the south-west fires that season. I propose moving the article to a more encompassing 1961 Western Australian bushfires. Any comments anyone? Moondyne 05:26, 7 July 2008 (UTC)

Okay, done. Also, I can't imagine Jarrahdale residents would have been evacuated to Dwellingup, more likely to go to Rockingham or Armadale. Moondyne 07:03, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
