On Editing This Article

edit

I really welcome contributions and corrections to my article. But don't do like Nimmo did and almost re-write the article and totaly losing the authors touch, creativity and hours of reserch for the article. That SUCKS!! FreddyFred

Wow. My apologies if you feel hurt, but you might want to look over the grammer and structure a little. Nimmo 08:21, 24 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

I'm not hurt. But please, try to EXPAND the article next time. If what I write seems to be wordy, wrong grammar etc, re-word it and try to make the sentence as long or, if possible, even longer....That's all I ask... FreddyFred

New Weapon Box

edit

I wonder if we should keep the new weapon box or should I revert it to the old box that I did? The new box i cool (but lacks of alot of information), but it seems to be related to weapons used specifically in war. Since this pistol has nothing to do with any war (yet) I think it's unnecessary. FreddyFred 01:00, 17 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Keep the new infobox it's the standard for all pistols/rifles/swords/artillery and most pistols use it or will be converted to it. Deon Steyn 08:54, 17 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:WildeyBronson.jpg

Image:WildeyBronson.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Article Focus

edit

Shouldn't this be devided between the Wildey Pistol and the .475 Wildey Magnum cartridge? The cartridge was introduced many years after the Wildey pistol had already been in production in .45 Winchester Magnum. In fact, the pistol was originally designed around the .45 Winchester Magnum and 9mm Winchester Magnum cartridges. The fact that the pistol was designed for a double stack magazine for the latter cartridge allowed the pistol to accomodate the single stack magazine of the larger .475 Wildey Magnum. --D.E. Watters (talk) 11:49, 28 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Agreed. The Wildey is a pistol. The .475 Wildey is a cartridge. This article is about the pistol and not about the cartridge and should be titled Wildey (pistol). DeusImperator (talk) 17:16, 7 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Wildly inaccurate

edit

This article is wildly inaccurate.

Look at the specification numbers. They describe an artillery shell, not a handgun cartridge. "Base diameter 12.72 in (323 mm) Rim diameter 12.01 in (305 mm)" — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lokisgodhi (talkcontribs) 20:22, 20 December 2012 (UTC) Reply
