i noticed that the case length in the dimensions in the side bar on the right seem to not be correct. the dimensions should match the bb cap on wikipedia. what is showing could be a long rifle cb cap but the dimensions are slightly different than that as well... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.40.235.202 (talk) 13:30, 19 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Health warnings edit

Are health warnings here and the other various handloading-type warnings creeping in all over the place really encyclopedic? It seems to me like it falls under WP:NOT#Content "Wikipedia articles should not include instructions, advice (legal, medical, or otherwise) or suggestions, or contain "how-to"s." I think a warning of a potential danger goes beyond the scope of instructions, advice, or suggestions, and in any other application it would be considered negligent to NOT provide this information. The presence of lead in priming compounds is not widely known, and in the case of CB loads (or wax or plastic bullets) the residue is 100% from the primer, meaning a higher lead concentration, and the residue is deposited far more heavily than in full power ammunition due to the lack of other combustion gases to blow it clear.
That said, I can probably change that the phrasing to make it less of a "do this" and more of a "due to these factors, this can happen". scot 21:58, 13 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
I think that's better. We're certainly not a shooting manual, reloading manual, etc. I think how you have it now addresses your concerns about danger without making it into advice. Arthur 22:06, 13 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Because lead poisoning is a new ground on which liberals are attacking firearms. By trying to pass laws outlawing the use of leaded ammunition coupled with bans against steel ammunition it leaves only expensive copper munitions. ~~ —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.151.173.229 (talk) 23:37, 20 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

This has no relevance to the page, and is simply flamebait. Don't do it again, please.

None of this has any relevance to the .22 CB page. The danger of the presence of lead in firearm ammunition is greatly overstated in some alarmist circles. I could elaborate, but this really isn't the place to discuss this. My point would be that lead warnings on articles like this are overkill at least, and probably inappropriate and unnecessary as well.

Article Dupe edit

.22 CB/.22 CB cap

On the subject of merging this with the .22 CB cap, I'd vote for it. There isn't enough differentiation (nor depth of detail) to warrant two pages. I hope I'm doing this correctly... Mzimmers (talk) 18:12, 23 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Agree, they are practically identical. Maybe get an administrator to simply delete the more recent article and add a redirect.Corella (talk) 10:10, 19 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
