History
editCommunity upkeep was aided by 4-H clubs and active home demonstrations during World War II and the Dust Bowl. Simms saw a rebirth in the 1990s with the construction of paved roads and other amenities. The town also hosted a rural fire department, a study-craft club, a local women's club, and a chapter of the Lion's Club. The nearby fields were also serviced by two grain elevators and a store. The population in 2000 was ten.[2]

A community home was built next to the former school location in 1950.[2] Today, the community is served by the Walcott Independent School District.
