Shimabarakō Station (島原港駅, Shimabarakou-eki, しまばらこうえき) is a train station located in Shimabara, Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan. It is on the Shimabara Railway Line which is operated by the third-sector Shimabara Railway.[1][2][3]

It is the southernmost station and terminus after the Southern Line branch was closed in April 2008 due to declining ridership and maintenance costs.[4][5]

Lines edit

Trains on this line now terminate at this station and Isahaya, where travellers can transfer to the JR Kyushu Nagasaki Main Line and Ōmura Line. It is 43.2 km from Isahaya. Local and express services stop at the station.[6][7]
