Roy Cohen (Hebrew: רואי כהן[1]; born (1979-06-20)20 June 1979) is an Israeli neuroscientist and businessperson, who is the co-founder and CEO of Behavidence.[2] He is known for creating Facebook's Quantum Performance framework and bringing Vidmob to the EMEA region.[3][4][5]

Early life and education

Cohen was born on June 20, 1979, in Petah Tikva, Israel. He attended York St. John University, where he studied PGDip in leading innovation and change. He then went to the King’s College London and received his MSc in applied neuroscience. Cohen also received certifications in immunology from Harvard Medical School and design thinking from MIT Sloan School of Management.,[6][7]

Career

Cohen has began his career in 2003 as an account supervisor at Grey Group, an advertising agency.

In 2005, Cohen joined Israeli media company Ananey Communications, as a lifestyle interactive brand manager.

He worked in various capacities before becoming the Director of Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) for Vidmob. Under his leadership, Vidmob expanded its international footprint, establishing offices in Ireland and in Brazil.[8][9]

Cohen joined Facebook in 2014 as a client partner and eCommerce lead, where he led business growth and partnership development in the Israeli B2C export market. He also consulted creative strategy and brand positioning. In 2017, Cohen became the direct response strategist and Quantum Connect global team lead, creating the Quantum Performance framework.[10][1]

In 2020, Cohen co-founded Behavidence, a company that utilizes digital biomarkers to assess and monitor mental health conditions such as anxiety and depression. Behavidence has received nominations for awards including the Prix Galien for Best Digital Health Solution and has been listed as one of the most promising AI startups for 2023.[2][3][7]

Cohen has been invited as a guest lecturer at several universities, including Yozgat Bozok University and the University of Bradford. He mainly lectures on neuroscience, startup development, and medical technology. He has also spoken at events like the Prix Galien Week of Innovation and Climb23: publications and Research.[11][1][5]

Cohen has contributed to research on mental health, mainly focusing on the use of digital biomarkers. Some of his notable publications include Identifying Generalized Anxiety Disorder through Phone Usage Patterns and Identifying Major Depressive Disorder based on Phone Usage Patterns.[12][13]
