|Birth name||Robert Daniel Nightingale|
|Born||21 May 1954|
Redruth, Cornwall, England
Nightingale used to work as a PE teacher at Rye Hills secondary school. His heyday of teaching is widely regarded as being between the years of 1993-1998 where he oversaw the physical education of some of Redcar's finest young athletes and students. Plus Stepho and Scollay. Alongside the legendary (but mildly psychotic) Johnny Moore, Nightingale helped form a formidable and powerful one-two PE teaching punch that helped form the character of many a young man. Known for his displeasure of "darft" shorts and silly questions, Nightingale played the sporting inspiration and actual teaching role to Moore's total fear and disciplinarian approach. Together, they are remembered by all who taught them to this day - lovingly by lads who could do PE and in nightmares by those who couldn't. Latterly (and lovingly) known as "Skinny Santa", Nightingale's real sporting glory were those little shorts he wore during his appearance on BBC show Sporting Supertars.
He now works at Freebrough Academy in Brotton, known as one of the worst schools in the UK.
