July 1952: Locomotive B 60, the first mainline diesel electric locomotive to run on Victorian Railways, is passed on its delivery run to Melbourne by steam locomotive S 302, in a photograph that marks the beginning of the end for steam traction on the VR. The B class locomotives, an Australian derivative of the American EMD F7, were an outstanding success. A little over two years after this photograph was taken the B class locomotives were running all the top express services and the S class streamliners, for over 20 years the pride of the VR fleet, had all been withdrawn and scrapped. - Zzrbiker (talk) 11:54, 18 September 2008 (UTC)

- It's a difficult subject - you've got a couple of royal blue locomotives on a cold winter day, with white steam from the steam locomotive. It's difficult to adjust and lighten the detail of the dark locomotives without losing the detail of the steam. But I'm happy to see what you can do. - Zzrbiker (talk) 10:42, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
