Parshuram Basnet Parshuram Basnet aka Krishna Basnet(नेपालीः पर्शुराम बस्नेत), is a Nepali politician who has been serving as Chairman of Nepal Confederation of Sports (NECOS), a political wing of Nepal Communist Party (UML), one of the major parties of Nepal, from 19 February 2023.

He was formerly, and the first, member secretariat of Sports Development Council of Koshi Province, appointed by the Koshi Government, then led by Bhim Acharya, one of the prominent UML leaders.
Born in Dolakha, a hilly district in Bagmati Province, Basnet moved to Biratnagar, a major city of Koshi Province in his early teen age. Since then, he has lived and worked in different sectors based in Biratnagar.
Meanwhile, Basnet took the membership of the communist party's youth wing PraRaYu Sangh in 1991. He was elected as the member of Biratnagar municipality of the PraRaYu Sangh from 1997 to 2000. A year after that he was appointed as the sub-commander of People's Volunteers.
His dedication and work led him to be the secretary of Youth Association of Nepal in 2014. Three years later he was elected as the Association's Vice Chairman. Since then, he has been serving in the UML's Koshi Province remaining in different positions too.
Political Candidate
Basnet was the candidate for Koshi Province Government from the Morang- 6'B' constituent in the provincial election 2023. He lost this election with less than 1000 votes to the candidate from Nepali Congress.
