Born in Solihull, Farmer came through the Wolverhampton Wanderers academy, joining as a 14-year-old, after being spotted three-years earlier, whilst playing for Solihull FC and then Highgate United in the Midland Junior Premier League.[2] He signed his first professional contract with Wolverhampton Wanderers on 8 December 2022.[2]

Prior to signing his deal, Farmer featured on the bench for Wolverhampton Wanderers U21 in the EFL Trophy Group stage game against Wigan Athletic in August 2021.[3]

On 18 October 2022, Farmer played for the first time in the EFL Trophy against Port Vale, which resulted in a 2–0 defeat, he replaced Filozofe Mabete in the 84th minute.[4] His second appearance of the competition would come against Manchester United U21 in November, where he came on as a substitute for Nathan Fraser. Manchester United U21 went onto win the Penalty shoot-out however.[5]

In September 2023, Farmer penned a new three-year deal with Wolverhampton Wanderers which runs until the summer of 2026, which came less than a year after signing his first professional deal with the club.[6]

After making three appearances for Wolves U21's in the EFL Trophy during the 2023–24 campaign, in February 2024, Farmer joined National League North club Rushall Olympic on loan until the end of the season.[7] he made 16 appearances for The Pics, scoring three times before he returned to Molineux at the conclusion of the loan in May.[8]
