Biography edit

Liber was born in the Angolan capital Luanda in 1977.[7] She studied law and later moved to Paris, France, where she established her family. Having difficulty continuing her university studies due to the foreign language, she moved with her husband and her eldest daughter to Portugal, firstly to Coimbra and in 2004 to Lisbon.[citation needed]

Having interrupted her law course, Ossanda dedicated three years to audiovisual production and writing for cinema, at Restart - Institute of Creativity, Arts and New Technologies in Lisbon. She was Director of the Hola Lisboa film festival. However, due to the financial instability of the sector, Ossanda began working in the business area where she invested in Angolan and Portuguese companies.

During the lockdowns of the COVID-19 pandemic, Ossanda began to think about "the role of the city with people" and gained visibility when she ran for the independent movement "Somos Todos Lisboa" for Lisbon City Council in 2021. She became vice-president of the Alliance Party, resigning from the position and disaffiliating in February 2022.

In April 2022, Ossanda Líber was involved in the creation of a new party in the country, called Nova Direita, whose signatures were delivered to the Constitutional Court in March 2023. The Nova Direita Party was registered by the Constitutional Court on January 9, 2024. The party contested the 2024 Portuguese legislative election but won no seats.[8] It will contest the 2024 European Parliament election in Portugal.[9]

In April 2024, she spoke at the National Conservatism Conference.[10]

She is married to Nuno Miguel Cruz dos Santos, a winemaker from Viseu. She is the daughter of António Pedro Filipe Júnior, a cardiologist, and Maria José João, a psychologist.[citation needed] Ossanda Líber is the mother of 4 children.[citation needed]
