Mulgimaa is a cultural-historical region in South Estonia. Today the region encompasses Viljandi County and northwestern Valga County. Historically, Mulgimaa was divided into five parishes (Estonian: kihelkond): Halliste, Helme, Karksi, Paistu, and Tarvastu.[1]
