Melody Day (Hangul: 멜로디데이) is a South Korean girl group formed in 2012 by Cre.ker Entertainment (formerly known as Viewga Entertainment). The group officially debuted with their single album Another Parting in February 2014 and with three members: Yeoeun, Chahee, and Yein. The fourth member, Yoomin was added to the group in October 2014.

2012–13: Pre-debutEdit

Melody Day started their career as a trio in 2012,[1] featuring on soundtracks for dramas such as Bridal Mask, Cheongdam-dong Alice, Missing You, My Daughter Seo-young, The King of Dramas, I Can Hear Your Voice, Master's Sun and Pretty Man. On June 26, 2013, they released the ballad track "Loving Alone" as part of the single album New Wave Studio Rookie, Vol. 1.

2014–16: Debut with Another Parting, new member Yoomin and further releasesEdit

Melody Day officially debuted with the single album Another Parting on February 25, 2014, with the title track of the same name. Its music video featured the actors Seo In-guk and Wang Ji-won.[2] The group's debut music show performance was on KBS's Music Bank on February 28. Later that year, Melody Day featured on digital singles by 2AM's Changmin and CNBLUE's Lee Jong-hyun, "The Very Last First" (May 21)[3] and "To Tell You The Truth" (August 14)[4] respectively. They also featured on the original soundtrack of the drama Fated to Love You with the single "You're My Everything", a remake of Jeff Bernat's "Be The One".[5]

In October, Melody Day introduced a new member, Yoomin.[6] The group released their first song as a quartet, "Listen to My Heart", for the drama Naeil's Cantabile.[7] On December 12, Melody Day released their first digital single "Anxious", featuring Mad Clown.[8]

Melody Day's second single album #LoveMe was released on June 9, 2015. Four months later, on October 7, they released their third single album Speed Up, with the music video for the title track of the same name starring GOT7's Jinyoung. On December 28, Melody Day released their second digital single "When It Rains" featuring VIXX's rapper, Ravi.[9] Melody Day released their first extended play Color and its title track of the same name on July 1, 2016.[10] In December 2016, Melody Day recorded the original soundtrack song "Beautiful Day" for the web drama First Seven Kisses.[11]

2017–present: Kiss on the LipsEdit

Melody Day released their third digital single You Seem Busy featuring BtoB's main rapper, Ilhoon, on January 24, 2017. The song was produced by Polar Bear and its lyrics were penned by JQ and Ilhoon.[12] On February 8, Cre.Ker Entertainment announced that Melody Day was set to release their second mini-album, Kiss On The Lips and its title track of the same name, on February 15, 2017.[13][14][15] On September 25, Cre.Ker Entertainment confirmed that Yeoeun, Yoomin, and Chahee are participating on KBS's Idol Rebooting Show The Unit. [16]
