Early and personal life
editWebster was born in Blackpool, one of six sons.[1] His step-father was Blackpool player Alec Stuart.[1] Webster married in 1926.[1]
Playing career
editWebster played for Blackpool Tramways, Bloomfield Villa, South Shore Wednesday, Fleetwood, Lytham, Blackburn Rovers, Stalybridge Celtic, Middlesbrough and Carlisle United.[1][2] He retired in early 1936 following a broken leg.[1]
Later career
editBy 1939 Webster was a shopkeeper in Middlesbrough.[1] He also worked as a plumber.[1] He later worked as a trainer at both Middlesbrough and Stockton.[1]
