Mask Blocs[1] are groups focused on Disability Justice that participate in Advocacy[2][3] and Mutual Aid by distributing high-filtration masks for free. Mask Blocs are decentralized groups that typically organize online.[4] They also typically distribute within one area, such as Los Angeles[5] or Portland.[6] Mask Blocs were spread in part due to the efforts of researchers to spread awareness of community-based projects to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.[4]
