Marumagal (transl. Daughter-in-Law) is an Indian Tamil television drama, starring Gabriella Charlton and Rahul Ravi in lead roles. The series was directed by Narayana Moorthy. It premiered on 10 June 2024, and airs from Monday to Saturday at 8:00 pm on Sun TV.[1] It is also available on the digital platform Sun NXT.

Synopsis
editThe story revolves around a two different personality people Aathirai and Prabhu, who are forced to married.
Aathirai's unyielding passion for helping others constantly lands her in trouble, while Prabhu's self-serving actions show disregard for his own family's well-being. Follow their tumultuous journeys as fate brings them together in marriage.[2]

Production

editThe series was announced by Sun TV on begin February 2024. The series is will produced by Aura Creations, who produced shows such as Vanathai Pola and Anandha Ragam.[3]
Casting
editActress Gabriella Charlton[4] was cast in the female lead role as Aathirai, marking her return after Eeramana Rojave 2.[5] Rahul Ravi was cast in the male lead role as Prabhu, marking his return after Kannana Kanne.[6]
Release
editThe first promo was released on 27 May 2024, featuring Gabriella Charlton and Rahul Ravi.[7] The second and third promos was unveiled 3 and 9 June, which gave a brief insight in Hero Heroine lives and revealing the release date.[8]
The show started airing on Sun TV on 10 June 2024 From Monday to Saturday, replacing Singapennae serial time slot.[9]

Controversy
editActor Rahul Ravi married Lakshmi Nair in 2020.[10] It is noteworthy that Rahul Ravi, who later absconded,[11] got anticipatory bail in that case and is now committed to the new serial.[12]
