Margherita Della Valle

Margherita Della Valle (born April 1965, Rome) is an Italian businesswoman who has been the chief executive officer (CEO) of Vodafone since January 2023.[1][2] Della Valle was elected Chairman of 100 Group,[3] the association that brings together FTSE 100 CFOs.[4]

Early life

Della Valle was born and grew up in Veneto Region, Italy.[5]

Biography

Della Valle holds a master's degree in economics from Bocconi University.[6]

During her early career, Della Valle became part of Omnitel Pronto Italia, which transitioned to Vodafone Italy in 1994.[7] She started at the company as a marketing analyst.[8] She held the role of Chief Financial Officer for Vodafone Italy between 2004 and 2007.[7][9]

Between 2015 and 2018, Della Valle served as Vodafone's Deputy Chief Financial Officer.[7][9]

In April 2023, Della Valle was appointed as the CEO of Vodafone, becoming the first female CEO of the company.[6] Prior to officially assuming the role, Della Valle temporarily assumed the role in January 2023, succeeding Nick Read.[6][10][11]

In 2023, she ranked 42nd in Forbes list of "World's 100 most powerful women".[12]

Personal Life

Della Valle is married and has two sons. She currently resides in London. [8]
