Early life and family

edit

Khan was born on 2 June 1993 in Mumbai,[2] to actor Aamir Khan and Reena Dutta.[3] He has a sister, Ira Khan,[4] and a half-brother Azad Rao Khan, from his father's second marriage to Kiran Rao.[5]

Khan completed his graduation from H.R. College of Commerce and Economics, and subsequently pursued an acting course at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.[6][7]

Career

edit

Khan started his career with theatre and has been part of plays such as Mother Courage and Her Children (2020), Medea (2022), Strictly Unconventional (2022) and Shikhandi (2024), among others.[8][9]

Khan made his screen debut with YRF Entertainment's historical drama film Maharaj, portraying journalist Karsandas Mulji opposite Jaideep Ahlawat.[10][11] Panning the film, Nandini Ramnath of Scroll.in bemoaned that Khan "struggles to fit into a role for which the debutant actor is as yet unsuited".[12] Shilajit Mitra of The Hindu added that he "is sincere and sharp-featured as the striving Karsandas — though still miles away from emerging a captivating leading man: he is especially dull in the courtroom scenes."[13]
