Jormungandr is a Zamperla steel powered coaster located at Drayton Manor Theme Park in Drayton Bassett, Staffordshire, UK. It first opened as Buffalo Coaster in 1987.
History edit
The ride opened in 1987 under the name Buffalo Coaster, and was located in the Aerial Park section of the park. It was also referred to as Buffalo Mountain Coaster.
The coaster was repainted in 2002, to its current colour scheme of red track and supports. Initially, it was white with its trains refurbished by Severn Lamb.
In 2022, the ride was rethemed and renamed to Jormungandr and fitted into the new Vikings section. It reopened with this new theme on 28th May 2022.[2]
Layout edit
The ride has a custom layout. It has two helices - one over the lake which sits within the park, and another within the woodland.
