John De'Mathew, real name John Ng'ang'a Mwangi, was a Kikuyu Benga artist who died in 2019 due to a tragic road accident along the Thika Super Highway.[1] He was recognized as the Kikuyu prophet since his music passed across coded messages that came to pass.[2] In July 2012, John De'Mathew and two others were arraigned in court over hate songs.[3]
