Jean C. Accius

Education

Accius completed his education at the Florida State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in business administration and master's degree in aging studies. He also has a bachelor's degree in social work from the University of South Florida. He furthered his studies at the American University in Washington, D.C., obtaining both a master's degree and a PhD in Public Administration. His academic focus has been on public policy, health equity, and social justice.

Career

Accius worked with AARP, where he was Vice President of Long-Term services & Supports and Senior Vice President of Thought Leadership & International Affairs. He also worked with Obama's administration as a senior Policy Advisor within the Disabled and Elderly Health Programs Group at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

Accius was appointed CEO of CHC: Creating Healthier Communities. Under his leadership, CHC has focused on accelerating health equity and addressing systemic health disparities affecting marginalized communities.

Accius has served as a faculty member at American University. His work has intersected with healthcare, social services, and public policy sectors.
