Jahangir Alam Kabir (Bengali: জাহাঙ্গীর আলম কবীর) (born: 2 September, 1957) is a Bangladeshi poet, writer, and journalist.[1][2] He is vice president of Satkhira Press Club.[3] And he is the executive editor of the daily newspaper, Dainik Ajker Satkhira.[4][5][6]

Jahangir Alam Kabir has performed various duties at various times since his entry into journalism. He worked as an assistant editor, executive editor, news editor, staff reporter, district representative, and police station representative. Daily Azad, Daily Desh, Daily Millat, Daily Bhorer Dak, Daily Sangan, Daily Address, Daily Ranar, Daily Kalyan, Daily Sfulinga, Daily Poorvi, Daily Ajker Satkhira, Daily Satnadi, Weekly Desh Hitaishi, Weekly Ganamans, Weekly Sunday, Weekly Jagaran, Weekly Labani, Weekly Mukti, Weekly Chayapath, Weekly Chayachanda, Weekly Vachitra Sangbad, Weekly Satkhira Digest, Weekly Arangam, etc. Contributor to DevFeatures, DevPressFeatures, PAB-Panos, DepthNews-Asia, Monthly Communications, Monthly People, and Monthly Illustrated Bangladesh. At present, he is performing the duties of executive editor of Dainik Ajker Satkhira, published from Satkhira, and fortnightly Nirvik Sangbad, published from Dhaka. Jahangir Alam Kabir got involved in environment, development and human rights movement in his journalistic life. As a supporting force of the movement, he penned these issues to create people's awareness. He gained prominence in South Bengal by producing features and news. Impressed by his success, in 1991 the CFSD awarded a fellowship in environmental studies with financial support from the Ford Foundation. Since 1991, he has been working on Environment, Development, Role of Media, Media Development Information, Environmental Journalism, Forest and Environmental Law, Health, Appropriate Use of Medicines, Child Rights, Immunization Programme, Inter-River Linkage, Biodiversity Management, Trafficking in Children and Women, Project Management, etc. and trained as a trainer. Jahangir Alam Kabir, News Editor of Dainik Kalyan and Village Paper Editor Mobinul Islam Mobin's joint research work 'Asha Nirashar Ulshi' was published in 1992. In 1918, she received financial support from Oxfam, the management of the Asharya Foundation and the Chupiya Women's Society for Disaster Relief. His thesis is titled 'Cyclone Infested Coast'.

Jahangir Alam Kabir's relationship with politics was born. During his student life, he was a member of the Workers' Party and president of the Jessore District Revolutionary Students' Union. He was one of the leaders and organizers of Chhatra Sangam Parishad formed against the military regime in 1982. He was the first rank leader of Jessore district of democratic youth movement. Apart from politics and journalism, as a social and cultural organizer, he has at various times been involved in ‘Basundiya Baishakhi Sahitya’ and Cultural Goshti, Basundia Press Club, Noapara Press Club, Noapara Pradesh Sahitya Goshti, Abhaynagar Literary Academy, Chetna, Jessore Ankur Culture and Drama Movement, Khadija Parveen Sangeet Academy., led countless clubs and cultural organizations including the National Journalists' Association, FDC, Environment for All. still doing Currently, he is a life member of Satkhira Central Public Library and Red Crescent Satkhira District Unit, a representative member of District Cultural Council and a member of Panchagram Jubo Samiti. Adviser to Madhobkati Annesha Public Library and Madhobkati Natya Sansthan. Currently, he is serving as the President of Crescent, a private development organization in Satkhira.[7]

Personal life

Jahangir Alam Kabir was born in 1957 in Chandipur village of Baduria police station in West Bengal. Father Nurul Haque, mother Rahima Begum. Married in 1985. Death of wife Protety Jahangir. Their family consists of their elder son Aworangojaib Ovi, daughter Momotaj Jahan Eva, and younger son Mashrafi Hossain Antu.
