Intimations is a 2020 collection of essays by writer Zadie Smith. Smith began writing the book around the time the COVID-19 pandemic began in the United States, and completed it soon after the murder of George Floyd.[1]

editAccording to literary review aggregator Bookmarks, the book received "positive" reviews with 14 being "rave" and 7 being "positive" and 3 being "mixed".[3][4] In Books in the Media, a site that aggregates critic reviews of books, the book received a 
(3.69 out of 5) from the site which was based on 6 critic reviews. [5]
Constance Grady, writing for Vox, referred to Smith's essays about current events as occasionally "facile" and that the collection was best when addressing the nature and utility of writing.[6]
