Timeline problems
When printing Template:Rabindranath_Tagore_timeline I get only the first half. When converting it to a PDF here, the file is empty. Could you please check if this can be solved? Wiki-uk (talk) 11:24, 30 September 2009 (UTC)
- The above mentioned timeline is removed from the print output because it uses the "NavFrame" css class. Content with that css class is usually used to facilitate navigation in the article with the browser - it does not add any content to the article. For these reasons the template was removed. In case of this special template the css class might be inappropriate and should be changed in order for the template to appear inside a pdf. -- Volker.haas (talk) 14:08, 5 October 2009 (UTC)
Bug (?): Book Collection Menu doesn't show
Hi, when I saw the new book feature in the German Wikipedia I was pretty excited since I expected it to also be available for the English Wikipedia but when I display an article page from the English Wikipedia the "Create a book" menu isn't there, which makes it kind of hard to create a book. I would like to know if this is on purpose, a bug or a temporary unavailability. Thank you.

Suggest Pages function
The Suggest Pages function is great, but once you start to add other articles that are related to a topic, the suggestions rapidly refocus on to the very common pages in Wikipedia in general. Could the suggest function allow you to take chapters of the books, or groups of articles in the books, as the parameters that help find related articles? SADADS (talk) 14:28, 27 October 2009 (UTC)
- I see what you mean. This feature would result in a way more complicated user interface and also code. I'd solve the problem as follows: 1) Create separate books for each chapter/topic 2) Save them 3) Load them (using the 'append' option) into a single book. --He!ko (talk) 16:41, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
I was thinking, maybe on the book page itself, a little link that says: "Suggested pages for this chapter." When you click on that an automated program could take the chapter and read in the pages for the pages following until the next chapter or end of the book, then create a temporary "book" which is feed into the code. All you would have to write is a program that reads in chapters, and support for temporary books, or automatically created subpages in book pages for chapters. The sub-pages or the read in could be useful for other functions, like chapter swapping between books or books series, or multiple volumed books. For example the book on the Beatles would make sense in multiple volumes. SADADS (talk) 16:53, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
