Harold Franklin Chorney (born December 27, 1938) is an American coin and precious metals dealer and founder of Cumberland Investment Corporation and Money School of Boston.

Early Life and Education
editHarold Franklin Chorney was born on December 27, 1938, in Providence, Rhode Island, USA. He attended Tolman High School in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, graduating in the class of 1957. Chorney completed a bachelor's degree in Russian Studies at Brown University, graduating in 1961. He served in the US Air Force for 13 years.[1][2][citation needed]
Career
editChorney served as an advisor in the purchase, sale, and appraisal of coins, jewelry, and precious metals.[1][citation needed] He is the president and founder of Cumberland Investment Corporation, an international tangible investment firm then in its third decade of operation, since 1981. He founded the Money School of Boston in 1984.[2][3] He is also the founder of Registered Tangible Investment Advisors Association, and a co-founder of the National Center for Bankruptcy Accountability.[2][4] During the 1980s, Chorney contributed articles on silver dollars to Wealth Magazine and Barron’s Financial Weekly.[4][citation needed]
