Hania Aamir (Template:Lang-ur) (12 February 1997)[1] is a Pakistani film and television actress, model and singer. While studying at the Foundation for Advancement of Science and Technology, Aamir made several dubsmashs and uploaded them on her social media account, which got the attention of the producer Imran Kazmi, who later cast her in a supporting role in the blockbuster romantic comedy Janaan (2016)–a role which earned her a Lux Style Award for Best Supporting Actress nomination.[2][3][4] Her subsequent appearance in the sunsilk commercial made her one of the most sought-out media personalities in Pakistan.[5][6][7] Aamir rose to prominence with the role of a beauty-obsessed unfaithful wife in the romantic television series Titli (2017), and a girl next door in the melodrama Visaal (2018). She achieved further success by featuring as the female lead in the action comedy Na Maloom Afraad 2 (2017), and the aerial combat-war Parwaaz Hai Junoon (2018), both of which rank among the highest-grossing Pakistani films of all time, and drew praise for her performances in the 2019 romantic television series Anaa.[8][9][10][11][12][13]

In addition to acting in films and television, Aamir has appeared in several television commercials, including Garnier and Mobilink. She participates in stage shows and concerts. Her latest project is Ishqiya where she plays the role of Rumaisa (also known as Rumi) alongside lead actors Feroze Khan and Ramsha Khan. More recently, she got the lead role of Sanam in HUM TV's Dil Ruba.

Career

Aamir was studying at the Foundation for Advancement of Science and Technology (FAST-NUCES), when she auditioned for the romantic comedy Janaan (2016), a film produced by the debutante filmmaker Imran Kazmi. Upon release, the film received positive reviews and was a commercial success. Her role of a mischievous Pashtun woman was critically appreciated and gained her a Lux Style Award for Best Supporting Actress nomination.[3][4][5]

Aamir subsequently starred as a beauty-obsessed unfaithful wife in the 2017 romantic television series Titli. The series was the modern adaption of the novel Beauty and the Beast, and aired on Urdu 1. The success of the series proved a breakthrough for her, earning her wide public recognition. Her performance in the Hum TV's romantic drama Phir Wohi Mohabbat (2017), earned her the Best Television Sensation Female at the Hum Awards. That same year, Aamir played a headstrong bride-to-be in the year's highest-grossing release, the heist comedy Na Maloom Afraad 2. The film, a sequel to the 2014 romantic comedy film Na Maloom Afraad, also starred Fahad Mustafa, Mohsin Abbas Haider and Javed Sheikh. The following year, Aamir featured in the Haseeb Hassan-directed Parwaaz Hai Junoon, an ensemble aerial combat-war drama alongside Hamza Ali Abbasi, Ahad Raza Mir and Kubra Khan. As her previous release, it emerged as a major critical and commercial success and both the films rank among the highest-grossing Pakistani films. Aamir's next portrayal was of a girl next door in the ARY Digital's melodrama Visaal (2018), opposite Zahid Ahmed and Saboor Aly, one of the most popular dramas of 2018.[11][13][14] After playing a comic role in the telefilm Band Toh Baje Ga (2018), she played the free-spirited heiress of a fictional city Shergarh in the romantic television series Anaa (2019), one of the highest-rated television series of the year. In addition to acting, she along with Sahir Ali Bagga, also sang the title track of the series which has garnered 8 million views on YouTube.[15][16][17][18]

Personal life

Aamir was rumoured to be in a relationship with singer Asim Azhar,[19] but denied it a live session with Aima Baig.[20] In June 2021, Hania became the target of trolls after a video of her along with actor Aashir Wajahat sparked controversy.[21] Hania responded to this misogyny after a video showed a man ejaculating to her picture "on video on the internet".[22]
