The Górczewska Park[a] is an urban park in Warsaw, Poland. The park is located in the neighbourhood of Jelonki Północne, within the district of Bemowo, between Lazurowa Street, Czuma Street, and Powstańców Śląskich Street, around the residencial neighbourhood of Górczewska. The park was opened in 1980.

Name

The park was named after the surrounding it residential neighbourhood of Górczewska, which in turn, was named after the neaby Górczewska Street.[1]

History

The park was built in 1980, as part of the high-rise residentcial neighbourhood of Górczewska, designed by Krzysztof Tauszyński.[2]

In 2008 in the park was opened an amphitheatre. It was named after singer Michael Jackson, in commemoration of his only concert in Poland, which took place at the nearby Bemowo Airport in 1996. In 2019, due to numerous child sexual abuse accusations against him, it was renamed to the Górczewska Amphitheatre.[3]
