Personal lifeEdit

In 2002, while a freshman at Colorado State, Rucker was arrested for sexual assault of a woman whom he had met at a party. An affidavit released the next day revealed that a woman had called police at around 2:30 AM from her dorm room. The woman, who was not named, said that Rucker followed her back home. When she entered, she went straight in to use the bathroom. When she came back, she saw Rucker standing next to her bed naked. Rucker than grabbed her, pinned her down on the bed, and started to take off her pants and underwear, all while the woman told him to stop. When asked about the incident, Rucker admitted to having sex with her, but that it was consensual. He was arrested thereafter, but was shortly released on bail. Rucker had allegedly had other incidents of sexual assault in 1997 and 2001.

In 2006, shortly before the Bengals drafted him, Rucker was arrested with two counts of spousal abuse. The charges were filed after Rucker and his girlfriend were involved in a fight outside a party that he was hosting. She sustained minor injuries during the fracas. If convicted, Rucker could've spent up to 3 years in county jail. However, the charges were soon dropped.

Rucker was among a group of investors that placed a marijuana legalization initiative on the Ohio ballot in 2015.[8] The initiative would have granted exclusive grow rights to Rucker and the other investors in the plan, but ultimately it failed to pass.[9]
