This is an incorrect image. It is actually a picture of the hunting of a deer, but the front end of the deer has disappeared. It belongs to 1561, and appears in La Venerie du Jaques du Fouilloux, a treatise on hunting, which can be accessed at the following. [1]
The image was copied by George Turbervile for his 'Noble Art of Venerie' a translation of du Fouilloux a few years later
