Fair use image
editHi JJMC89. — Re: File:Donald Dean Jackson.jpg, I am responding to the fair use notice you posted on my Talk page, and here. I've addressed the fair use rationale in question (3a and 8) in the file summary. There are two images for the Donald Dean Jackson article because one depicts Jackson near the start of his career, as Editor-in-Chief of the George Washington papers project, in his office, while the other image (in the info-box) shows Jackson in his elder years just before his death. Neither photo by itself visually represents Jackson during his entire academic career. I've added information to this effect in the fair-use rationale. Hope this satisfies the fair-use criteria in question. - ' Best -- Gwillhickers (talk) 18:07, 26 August 2019 (UTC)
- The same can be said of anyone with a long enough career.
To identify a subject of discussion [...] only a single item of non-free content meets the criterion.
WP:NFC#CS Since there is no critical commentary on his appearance, like might be relevant for someone who's notability is due to their appearance (not a journalist/historian/professor), I see no reason to include multiple non-free images. — JJMC89 (T·C) 05:04, 1 September 2019 (UTC)- @JJMC89: — Okay, fair enough. I will remove this image from the article. ' Best, -- Gwillhickers (talk) 23:04, 1 September 2019 (UTC)
