I chose {{tl:PD-USGov}} for this image because the Coast Guard site says that the photographer is unknown. The photo could have been taken by an employee of another agency. Many photos in the Coast Guard archives were taken before the Coast Guard became responsible for lighthouses. Some of the photos apparantly were transfered from the Navy to the Coast Guard, while others can be presumed to have been inherited from the Lighthouse Service. Even photos taken since the Lighthouse Service was merged into the Coast Guard cannot automtically be assumed to have been taken by Coast Guard personnel. -- Donald Albury 13:52, 29 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
