France

edit

Something is wrong. Frances colonies, Guiana and New Caledonia are green but France itself is gray. Can someone clarify Paris' position? Their Foreign ministry and UN sites seem to welcome the coming independence of Southern Sudan, but I can't find an outright promise to recognise--Dudeman5685 (talk) 23:47, 24 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Removed, since they aren't listed as having recognized. — kwami (talk) 16:48, 26 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
Hi guys! Thanks for your comments. You are both correct about this matter. AFAIK, France hasn't said any way on if they will or will recognize S. Sudan. To be honest, I marked New Caledonia and Fr. Guiana on the map because it's a habit I have when marking dependencies on maps like this. Thanks again for noticing this! - Thanks, Hoshie 01:29, 29 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Libya

edit

Shouldn't libya be "striped" Purple as the NTC council (in control of the eastern third and misrata) should be in Grey. Bezuidenhout (talk) 19:42, 10 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Australia

edit

Australia has recognized Southern Sudan. It is not included in the picture.

Belgium

edit

Belgium recognized Southern Sudan. It is not green in the picture. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.66.7.44 (talk) 15:51, 9 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Somaliland

edit

Somaliland is not recognized by Somalia and the UN. Thus why it's coloured green? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.80.208.136 (talk) 17:20, 4 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Cache problem

edit
  • Warum erscheint bei Verkleinerungen (200px 300px ... , thumb) immer die Version 21:34, 8. Jul. 2011 von Spesh531 ?
  • Bei Originalgröße erscheint die Aktuelle Version.
  • Purge ist zwecklos, bewirkt nichts. Es bleibt bei Version vom 21:34, 8 July 2011 --- Dufo (talk) 12:56, 9 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

European Union

edit

The entire EU has formally recognised the country[1], yet the map has not been updated. In fact, it does not even colour a single country as having already recognised it, as none of them are dark green. What is wrong?--Huaiwei (talk) 16:53, 9 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

This is used in South Sudan article. Maybe File:CountriesRecognizingSouthernSudan.svg should be used instead, because it has some countries in dark green. As such, the SVG version seems to be more up to date. Did not check country-by-country, though, it could be wrong also. But this PNG version is wrong for sure. 85.217.39.33 (talk) 17:40, 9 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
The image was up to date, but was't (isn't?) displaying correctly due to a cache issue; see the section above. --Waldir talk 20:36, 9 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

New SVG version

edit

I have created a proper SVG version from BlankMap-World6, compact.svg, which I have also added South Sudan to. It's up-to-date at the time of writing and I've replaced the PNG version with this one on English Wikipedia. I'd recommend using this one instead in future, and if you want the "states which intend to recognize" and "states which refuse to recognize" back then edit them in, please don't just dismiss the SVG because they're not there :) -- Smurfy 17:44, 9 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Peru

edit

This map excludes Peru which recognised South Sudan. You don't have to reply to me on my talkpage. Just pointing this out. --Leoboudv (talk) 21:24, 26 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
