Mesopotamian Arabic, also referred to as Iraqi Arabic, is a continuum of mutually-intelligible varieties, native to the Mesopotamian basin of Iraq. This variety is also used in parts of Iran, Syria, and Turkey. Due to significant influence from ancient Mesopotamian languages, as well as Persian, Turkish, Kurdish, and Greek, Mesopotamian Arabic is said to be the most Aramaic-Syriac influenced spoken Arabic.
