A look around The Quarry in Shrewsbury. Part of the park is known as The Dingle. The park was first created in 1719. Boer War Memorial near St Chad's Terrace. Grade II listed. SHREWSBURY SJ4812SE ST CHAD'S TERRACE 653-1/14/538 (West side) Boer War Memorial GV II War memorial. c1902. By Caffin of Regent Street. Stone. Soldier leaning on rifle raised on high chamfered plinth, itself on a stepped base. On the plinth, the dates of the South African Wars (1899-1902), the war dead, and a bust of Queen Victoria in low relief. The memorial is surrounded by a cast-iron railing.
