Summary

Description
English: Sargent Bridge across the Middle Loup River south of Sargent, Nebraska; seen from the south. The Pratt through truss bridge was built in 1908, and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. It is no longer used for vehicle traffic: a new bridge located downstream from the old one now carries U.S. Highway 183 across the river. The bridge is at the head of a small island in midstream; in the picture, the far bank to the left is the north shore of the river, while the far bank to the right is the island.
