Español: El puente de san Miguel, situado en las afueras de Jaca, en la carretera que une este municipio con el valle de Aísa, se construyó con la finalidad de comunicar los diferentes valles del Pirineo aragonés de la Jacetania, cruzando el río Aragón. Su denominación se asocia con toda probabilidad al hecho de que cercano a él, se localizaba una antigua ermita bajo la advocación del santo, del que toma el nombre. Fue un instrumento muy útil por los peregrinos del Camino de Santiago que seguían la ruta francesa de camino a Navarra.
El puente, levantado en fábrica de sillería y con unas dimensiones de noventa y seis metros, está formado por un gran arco ojival de diecisiete metros de altura y dos arcos más pequeños y tajamares entre ellos. Se construyó alrededor del siglo XV, siendo uno de los pocos puentes medievales conservados en territorio aragonés. |
