Snippets of single instruments on Tim and Geoff Follin's soundtrack for the SNES cult hit Plok! From 0:00:0:05 is a single guitar chord sample beginning the game's title theme. From 0:05-0:11 is the harmonica in the opening them. 0:11-0:21 is the lead guitar taken from "Beach," and 0:21-0:29 is an evil laugh made by pitching a breath sample up and down, which is heard in the boss theme.

Source

The stems were extracted by first downloading the game's .spc music file from Zophar.net and then exporting them to .wav files using Audio Overload. All the snippets were combined together and exported to this .ogg file with Audacity.

Article

Plok!

Portion used

These are small snippets of songs, specifically of only one instrument from each.

Low resolution?

Yes

Purpose of use

These samples are to give a far better understanding to the reader of Plok!'s soundtrack getting recognized by retrospective writers (and, according to a rumor, Nintendo founder Shigeru Miyamoto) for going beyond the limitations of the SNES hardware to sound like real music. The fact that these samples sound realistic and are played on one audio channel in doing so illustrates this (especially the acoustic guitar chords!)

Replaceable?

No. The soundtrack and only the soundtrack can illustrate itself.

Other information
