Español: La obra representa una escena de escuela, en la que un maestro está en actitud de azotar con un latiguillo a un alumno que descubre las nalgas, y que adopta la postura para recibir el castigo. A la derecha, otros alumnos que ya han recibido la lección, recomponen sus ropas y en medio del llanto por el castigo recibido, mientras que en el fondo a la derecha de la escena, la sombra del cuadro envuelve a otros niños que se aplican a sus tareas

Object history En el siglo XIX la obra estaba en la Iglesia de San Ildefonso de La Granja y en 1920 en la colección Rosillo de Madrid. Fue adquirido en 2008 por el Gobierno de Aragón a la Galería Caylus de Madrid para el Museo de Zaragoza.
