English: Kirkstall Forge entrance from Abbey Road, Hawksworth. This is the western entrance to the Kirkstall Forge site. The forge is a very old industrial site dating back over 200 years, possibly as long as 850. In recent years it made large castings such as gearbox casings for lorries, but the factory has been closed since 2002
It is a large site, nearly 23 hectares, and is planned for redevelopment as hotels, offices and housing - see here http://www.kirkstallforge.com/
