English: U.S. Army divers out of Fort Eustis, Va., begin diving operations for the former Soviet submarine Juliett 484 at the bottom of the Providence River in Rhode Island June 7, 2008. U.S. Navy and Army divers are participating in the joint service operation with federal, state and local authorities to raise the vessel, which sank in about 30 feet of water during a Nor'easter that struck the area April 2007. The training exercise is part of the Department of Defense's Innovative Readiness Training program, which trains military divers through real-world, community-based projects.
