Die Brücke über die Thaya wurde 1874 eröffnet und verbesserte die Verbindung von Hardegg nach Südmähren. Errichtet wurde sie von der Firma Ignaz Gridl, wobei ursprünglich zumindest das Geländer noch aus Holz bestand. Nach dem Fall des „Eisernen Vorhanges“ wurde sie instandgesetzt und am 12.
