The inscription says: "In memory of William Grainge who died at Harrogate September 29th 1895 aged 77 years. Also Thomas Grainge son of the above who died Nov. 30th 1905 aged 47 years. Also Mary Grainge wife and mother of the above who died Oct. 5th 1908 aged 80 years".
