Purpose of use in article (WP:NFCC#8)	Culturally-appropriate depiction of the Svan goddess Dali, by a Svan artist. Demonstrates several elements key to her character, including her long blond hair, her association with horned hoofed animals, and her white clothes (when she isn't nude, she always wears white).
Not replaceable with free media because (WP:NFCC#1)	* No freely-available image of Dali has been located, and both I and Professor Tuite have been searching since 2017. The Svan do not appear to have produced statues or other images of their deities, so there are no cultural artifacts depicting her to take photos of. The goddess is somewhat obscure in literature/scholarship, so it is unlikely that there are any out-of-copyright illustrations of her. It would be inappropriate to create a modern image of Dali not drawn by a Svan artist and present it as culturally-accurate.
Minimal use (WP:NFCC#3)	This will be the only fair-use image on the article, and will only be used in the article. The image has been slightly cropped and again only represents a single image from a larger work. The resolution is low.
Respect for commercial opportunities (WP:NFCC#2)	The book the image is taken from was published in Georgia in 1969, and is no longer actively being printed, sold new, or promoted. In addition, the cover is only a small portion of the entire work, which is an 80-page book with other illustrations - merely seeing the cover cannot replace experiencing the entire book.
