English: The ruins of the Northwestern tower at the castle of Chamaa (also spelled Chama'a, Chama, or Shama), in Southern Lebanon, some 25 km southeast of Tyre, overlooking the closeby Sector West headquarters of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) towards the Mediterranean Sea. Built in 1116 by the Frankish Crusaders over the remains of Roma-Byzantine buildings and restored in the 18th century by the Shiite dynasty of Ali al-Saghir, it was partly destroyed by Israeli attacks in the 2006 war against Hezbollah.
