English: Castanospermum australe, the black bean, has been planted ornamentally in a couple of locations in 7th Brigade Park. It is found in local rainforest and riparian areas not subject to fire. The flowers are borne on the branches in a manner described as Ramiflory. Flowers are rich in nectar and attractive to birds, mammals and insects.
