Summary

Description
English: Buildings built since 1940, in Burgate in Canterbury, Kent, England. Lydia Cecilia Hill, who was a favourite of Sultan Ibrahim of Johore, was killed when a furrier's shop was bombed in Burgate in 1940 - possibly on this site. Next to the old church tower are new buildings where the Longmarket joins Burgate. The Longmarket was destroyed by Baedeker raids in 1942. It is not known whether some of the 1940 bomb damage occurred here as well.
