Summary

Description
English: Francesco Bosso (Vercelli 1864–Torino 1933), Scorcio del parco di Villa Cavallini (View of the park of Villa Cavallini, Lucca, Italy), 1914, oil on canvas, 33 x 40 cm., signed and dated lower left. Auctioned at Wannenes online, December 2023. From the lot description: "He studied at the Institute of Fine Arts in his city and at the beginning of his artistic career he dedicated himself to decoration and scenography, carrying out several works in palaces, churches and theaters in Italy, France and Switzerland. His favorite subjects were flowers and still lifes, which he created with elegance and mastery. The painting presented here goes beyond the usual themes and poetically describes a glimpse of the park of the villa of the Cavallini family in Lucca, a work probably donated by Bosso himself during a stay in the property."
