Jerome Downes (born August 9, 1993) better known as Fahda Romie,[1] is a Jamaican rapper and songwriter, known for his 2020 EP titled ExtraGalactic Quasar which led him to Jamaican YouTube artistes of 2021.[2][3]

Early life edit

Jerome was born August 9, 1993, and grew up in May Pen, Clarendon, Jamaica.[4][5] Jerome attended May Pen Infant School, May Pen Primary School and Knox High School in Spalding Clarendon from 2005 to 2007.[6] He later went to Denbigh High School in May Pen Clarendon from 2007 to 2010 where he completed secondary school.[7] He then proceeded to Denbigh High School 6th Form in 2010 to 2011 and College HEART College of Hospitality Services from 2013 to 2014.[7] Jerome was raised by his grandparents at the age of 4 when his father relocated to the United Kingdom while his mom lived in Cayman Islands.[7] In November 2018 Fahda resigned from ting Irie and started a new job as personal chef to Ray HushPuppi Abbas and colleague.[7]

Fahda Romie released his debut EP titled ExtraGalactic Quasar on December 31, 2020. [8] On May 25, 2020, he emerged as Spotify RADAR artistes alongside Shenseea & Kranium.[9][10] In 2021 Fahda Romie was ranked among the hottest Jamaican rappers, and dancehall 2021 by a Nigerian newspaper Nigerian Tribune[11] and among 5 breakout Jamaican artists to watch in 2021 by The Guardian.[12] On December 30, 2023, Fahda Romie opened for Sean Paul at the 2023 Coca-Cola Arena festival[13]
