Ethel Katherine Crum (1886-1943) was an American botanist, noted for collecting and studying California flora, as well as serving as assistant curator of the University of California Herbarium.[1][2][3] She discovered and formally described at least 13 species and varieties of plants.[4] The standard author abbreviation Crum is used to indicate this person as the author when citing a botanical name.[5]

She worked as a research assistant for Dr. Willis Linn Jepson on the manuscript for volume two of A Flora of California. In 1933 she was hired as curatorial staff at the Herbarium, where she worked until her death in 1943. She served as the secretary to the editorial board of the California Botanical Society from 1933-1943.
